Trip Itinerary
DAY 1: Xiapu Arrival
You can arrive at Xiapu by high speed train from Fuzhou or Xiamen, both of which have international flights from Singapore, the US, Canada, and European countries.
Upon arrival at the Xiapu train station, you will be picked up and taken to the hotel for a welcome dinner with your guide and other participants.
DAY 2: Xiapu
We will head to Mantou (steamed bun) Hill to photograph the sunrise over the golden mudflat and hundreds of bamboo poles with dry seaweed on them. The tides will gradually flood the mudflat and bamboo poles, creating ever-changing views.
After that, we will drive to a hidden ancestral temple in a nearby village, where we'll photograph a lady fixing the nets. The natural lighting in the temple is beautiful, filtering through half-closed doors and illuminating the work scenes.
Later in the afternoon, you can photograph the S-curve, which is formed by bamboo poles and crab nets during the seaweed harvest season, with boats coming and going, adding to the scene.
Stay overnight in Xiapu.
DAY 3: Xiapu
On another early morning, we will drive 40 minutes to Xia Qing Shan bridge to shoot the work scenes of local fishermen collecting the fish and nets that were put into the water the day before.
After breakfast, we will head towards the mangrove forest. Our aim is to capture the fishermen couple wandering amidst the mangroves and showcase their fishing techniques. This location is ideal for capturing black-and-white photographs with its simple lines and clean frames.
In the afternoon, you will photograph the floating nets in a low-tide area. These nets were used for shrimp fishing, and the lines of nets in the wind, along with the raft man, are now popular photography subjects.
We will photograph the local fishermen returning home on the mudflat at sunset, which is one of the highlights of Xiapu photography.
Overnight in Xiapu.
DAY 4: Xiapu
After breakfast, you will visit Yangjiaxi village to photograph the farmer couple with their buffalo under a giant banyan tree, capturing the sun rays shining through the branches and leaves.
Next, visit a She minority village to shoot portraits in well-preserved old houses. You can also photograph a girl weaving in her family-owned private museum with natural light and an 80+ year old grandma cooking on a traditional hearth.
In the afternoon, we will head to the Nanxi River and stay overnight there.
DAY 5: Nanxijiang
Photograph the morning mist floating above the river and the fishing scenes in the river. Capture the local fishermen casting their nets and the entire process.
In the afternoon, meet local buffalo farmers and take portraits in Yangjiatang ancient village.
Head to the Ou River in the late afternoon and stay overnight there.
DAY 6: Lishui
Head to the Ou River to photograph the sailing boats on the river. The reflections of the small wooden boats with their high white sails at dawn are amazing.
Next, head to Jingyun County to visit Heyang ancient residence and photograph the old houses, local people, and portraits.
In the late afternoon, drive to Xiandu scenic area and stay overnight there.
DAY 7: Wenzhou departure
We will start early to capture the buffalo farmer couple amidst the mist on an old bridge with the majestic mountains in the background. The scenic area also features a large, photogenic, and textured rocky pillar.
After the morning photography session, we will take a short break at the hotel. Then, we will drive you to Wenzhou airport for your departure.
